Hello, I’m LaQuita Morrison, Director of Global Compensation Services at CapRelo. I’m thrilled to share a bit about myself, my career journey, and what drives me both professionally and personally. This year marks my 7th anniversary with CapRelo, and it’s been an incredible experience.
The Path to CapRelo
I began my career with a strong interest in numbers and accounting. Right out of high school, I worked at Walmart as a cashier and later in the photo lab, where I learned about photo development. After graduating from college, I landed my first professional job at NationsBank, now Bank of America, working in reconciliations for banking tellers. This role solidified my passion for numbers.
From there, I moved to Ernst & Young (EY), where I delved into taxation and accounting, marking the start of my relocation career. My journey brought me through various roles in different relocation companies until 2017 when CapRelo acquired our division from Xerox Relocation. This acquisition allowed us to bring our global expertise to CapRelo and helped expand the company’s global reach.
Life Outside of Work
I’m not married, but I have an adult son who travels a lot for his job. We cherish the time we spend together when he comes home on weekends. Family gatherings, barbecues, and brunches with friends are some of my favorite ways to spend my free time. I also love reading, which is a great way for me to unwind.

Career Achievements and Passion
One of my proudest achievements is reaching a leadership role. As a director, I can help others grow professionally and personally. I enjoy mentoring and developing my team, guiding them toward their career goals. Additionally, I chair the Belonging and Inclusion Council at CapRelo. Over the past three years, we’ve implemented several initiatives that have significantly impacted our company culture, making this role a significant personal accomplishment.

Advice for Aspiring Professionals
For anyone starting in the field of global mobility, my advice is to learn as much as possible. Take advantage of webinars, training classes, and align yourself with a mentor. Observing and learning from those around you can provide invaluable insights and help you advance in your career. Communication and maintaining a positive personality are also crucial.
Goals and Aspirations
Professionally, I aim to continue my leadership journey, striving for higher roles that allow me to impact a larger audience and help more people grow. I believe in the potential for growth and development in every role, and I aspire to demonstrate that through my career path.

A Fun Fact About Me
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I explored voice acting. With the uncertainty of the job market, I sought a remote career that I would enjoy and potentially make money from. I took coaching lessons for about eight months, learning the art of voice acting. Although work got busier and I had to put this passion on hold, it’s something I still think about and may pursue further in the future.
Inspirational Movies
Two movies that have profoundly impacted me are “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and “Shutter Island.” “The Talented Mr. Ripley” intrigues me with its story of adaptability and the dark consequences of living a lie. “Shutter Island” fascinates me with its psychological depth and the portrayal of a man grappling with his identity and memories. Both movies stimulate my mind and keep me captivated with their mysterious and dramatic narratives.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey. I’m excited about the future at CapRelo and look forward to continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
