Aaron Ward Expense manager

Hi there, I’m Aaron Ward, an Expense Management Specialist at CapRelo. I’ve been part of this fantastic team for almost two years now, and I’m excited to share a bit about my journey, both professionally and personally.

Finding My Path to CapRelo

My journey to CapRelo started in an unexpected way. I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers, though it wasn’t until after high school that I truly discovered my knack for it. Before CapRelo, I was in the accounting field working for a non-profit. What attracted me to CapRelo was its strong reputation and high level of service. It’s the people and the company culture that keep me here, making every day rewarding and engaging.

Balancing Career and Family

I’m married and have two wonderful boys, aged three and five. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, hiking, playing hockey, and watching sports. Hockey is my favorite, but I enjoy a bit of everything—baseball, football, and basketball. Balancing my career and family is crucial, and I’m grateful for CapRelo’s support in allowing me to work from home and be present for my family.

Advice for Newcomers

For anyone starting in this field, my biggest piece of advice is to ask questions and learn the field in pieces. Don’t try to learn everything in one day. Also, always have the audit guide handy—it’s an essential tool in our work.

Continuous Growth and Leadership

I’m constantly striving to grow in my current role and develop the skills to become a leader. Watching my boys thrive and grow each day is something I’m incredibly proud of, and I aim to bring that same level of growth and development into my professional life.

A Fun Fact and Personal Inspiration

Here’s a fun fact: I come from a family of left-handers. Growing up, my brother was the only right-handed one among us. When I realized my girlfriend (now wife) was also left-handed, I knew she was the one. It’s a quirky trait that most people find surprising about me.

As for inspiration, the song “Enter Sandman” by Metallica has had a profound impact on my life. It’s been a constant source of motivation for me since I was young. Whenever I need a pick-me-up or extra drive, that song always does the trick.

Looking Forward

I’m grateful for my journey at CapRelo and excited about what the future holds. Balancing personal and professional life is possible with the right support, and I’m thrilled to continue growing both as a professional and as a person. Thanks for taking the time to read my story. I hope it gives you a glimpse into the supportive and dynamic environment here at CapRelo.
